Fundamentals of Brain Gym®, was Brain Gym® for Babies

Pre-requisites:
  • A passion for life and a desire to give your child the best potential for integration and growth

Course content:

The baby lying in her crib coos, moves her arms and legs in an apparently random fashion, turning her head to follow the movements of the mobile hanging overhead. Although she seems to be doing little of importance, she is already hard at work, setting the ground for the brain connections that will later allow her to play the saxophone in a jazz band, hit a home run and solve intricate algebra problems. What will determine her ability to carry out any one of these complex tasks and what prevents her from doing so right now, are specific neurological connections. The key to establishing those connections is movement.

Few of these connections are in place at birth.

As a child goes through basic developmental stages, from creeping to crawling, from standing to walking and running, new connections are established. In some instances a child may not complete a particular developmental stage. In other instances, stress (whether biochemical, emotional or physical) causes delays in development.
  • What are your expectations for your child?
  • What are the expectations of society?

We compare these two levels and explore them on the following levels:
  • Development:
  • Motor
  • Language
  • Play

Emotional Candidates will be taught practical applications to support and stimulate the baby or child. These movements can also be applied to the elderly, the infirm, or people where movement is restricted. Learn what to do with Brain Gym® movements, the senses and reflexes. On this workshop you will also discover how your child's brain is working.
